Sometimes those we are closest to get the “us” that’s not so polished and pretty.
The one who smiles at co-workers and customers even when we don’t feel great. That opens doors for strangers and makes small talk with the waitress who’s having a tough day. The one that shows compassion for the sick and is kind to animals.
Those closest to us sometimes get the impatient, grumbler who’s feeling achy from the cold and damp, exhausted by the overcrowded stores and lousy drivers who’ve pushed our buttons. The short tempered us who once safely home can drop the facade. It’s not right or fair but it happens.
So for those closest to you, remember, a little “I’m sorry” can clear the slate with the one you love. And a hug. ❤️
