Scenes from Santa Fe

I’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Santa Fe. Spence and I had been here 20+ years ago and I loved it. They say you can’t go back again but this was not one of those times. Santa Fe was every bit as captivating as I remembered and I fell in love with it all over again.

We rented a home in the Baca District which is adjacent to the Railyard District – both are new since my last visit. The location was perfect and we found great coffee shops, galleries, a wine shop and restaurants within steps of our rental. Our rental car allowed us to explore Santa Fe, Taos, Madrid, Abiquiu and Albuquerque.

This post has scenes from the Railyard District and the Plaza. Art is everywhere and I’ve come home inspired to paint – once I’m rested!

Stay tuned for more posts from this trip!

Cruising New England to Halifax

Back from my latest cruise, this time New England (Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor) to Halifax. Sailing on the Enchanted Princess was special, it was the ship I took my first-ever cruise on earlier this year.

Stay tuned for more on this trip…..

Flowers in Alaska

Whatever we expected of the weather in Alaska was completely different than our experience. Having packed layers, waterproof jackets and footwear, gloves, hats…..you get it. That said, the week we spent there was sunny, warm and perfect for enjoying the beauty around us and the flowers were thriving.

Cruising Alaska – Day One

I just returned from a one week cruise to Alaska on Discovery Princess. In Seattle, I met up with my cousin and her husband from Portland (Oregon) and my sister and brother-in-law from Vegas for pre-cruise dinner, drinks and a few toasts to the cruise ahead and fun times with family.

This trip exceeded our expectations and judging by the volume of photos I took there will several more blog posts coming soon.

We set sail on 8/3/24 and as we were pulling out of the Seattle Harbor the Captain announced that the Blue Angels were flying for an air show. It was a special treat and great beginning to our cruise. I captured some Blue Angel photos though you may have to squint to find them against the Seattle skyline.

Forest Bathing

My trip to Tennessee was an experience in Forest Bathing at my cabin, totally surrounded by the woods. The air smells fresh and clean, birds were singing from daybreak to sunset. In this setting I breathe differently, deeper. It’s a peaceful place to connect with nature.
