Living the Dream in Retirement
I’m dedicating this post to my fabulous and frilly poppies.
I realize I posted two days ago but my garden is blooming all at once and these were too lovely not to share.
After today’s rain there was a reprieve. I stepped out to capture the beauty of new blossoms, decorated with raindrops that glisten like diamonds.
My dwarf lilac bushes, planted in April of 2021 have burst into bloom for the first time. What a debut!
Even my perennial sage is full of buds which are on the verge of opening…
And my final photo today is a wider shot of the Peony Tree that is breathtaking as it continues to steal the show with its nonstop blooming.
Sometimes a stroll through the garden can calm the mind and shift your focus.
Seeing fresh herbs coming out of hibernation is a welcome sight.
While there is a chill in the air in Michigan, a combination of rain and sunny days has kept my garden flourishing. A freeze is imminent so I’m getting some photos of the last beautiful blooms …while I can. Enjoy!
I’m enjoying my ever changing garden on this sunny summer day. Connecting with nature, this oasis is my therapy in these troubling times. Surrounded by beauty, I’ve created a space where I can feel at peace and be grateful for all I have. And breathe….
Yesterday the flowers in my garden appeared to be in a competition to out bloom each other. Irises, peonies and poppies dominated the flowerbed alongside my driveway.
