Scenes from Europe – Part Eight – Germany

Spence lived in Germany for a few years while in the Army and knew of these charming little towns and medieval-like villages.  I fell in love with the flower boxes in seemingly every window. One day everything was shrouded in fog making it seem as though we’d been transported back in time, just magical and romantic.  The food was exceptional – schnitzel, spaetzle and the beer! I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

  1. I’ve been to Rothenburg. Beautiful town and area of Germany. I just bought a spaetzle maker so I can have a friend over for a German lunch. She too was born there. And yes, the flower boxes in the windows are gorgeous!

  2. Indeed, it is really charming and such special little towns and inns. I fell in love with the beauty of it all. There’s something to be said for traveling a bit off the beaten path and discovering little gems along the way.
